BWA Board Adopts Updated Drought Contingency Plan

The BWA Board of Directors adopted an updated Drought Contingency Plan and Emergency Water Management Plan at a special meeting on April 29, 2014. The Plan outlines actions BWA will take to insure adequate water is available for the safety and health of all Benbrook consumers caused by water supply limitations. Potential supply limitations include a limited water supply, possible contamination, delivery system limitations and required system repairs. The Plan outlines three water restriction stages and lists the triggers, use reduction goals, and water use reduction actions to be taken for each stage. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires the plan to be reviewed at least every five years. The next planned update will be by May 1, 2019.
